Hayley & Alex | Fall Wedding at Avant Garden

Hayley & Alex got married at Avant Garden in Houston. I’ve photographed this venue a couple of times, and that’s initially how they found me. We chatted on the phone to get to know each other and talk about their wedding, and we immediately hit it off. We instantly felt like we were friends! Even cooler: when I got to their apartment I learned that Alex has the same camera as me, they got engaged in Marfa (one of my favorite places), and they have the same throw pillows on their couch! (And they’re pretty unique so it was super surprising.) They live in a cute spot in the loop (my fellow Houstonians know that term) and we had a lot of fun exploring the Menil Collection during their portraits. Their decor at Avant Garden was nothing short of perfect. It featured beautiful florals and their centerpieces included cacti and small models of Donald Judd’s concrete works. One of my favorite weddings to date!
