A Trip to the East

In August of 2018, I decided to take a week long road trip between photographing weddings to visit some friends out east. I also wanted to make a dent in the states I hadn’t seen yet, so I planned a trip to cover Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama. (I’ve been to Louisiana way too many times so I passed right on through!)

On my first night I stayed in Hot Springs, Arkansas and passed through Texarkana on the way there. If you’ve never been to Hot Springs, I 100% recommend it! I stayed at a super cute Airbnb and explored Bathhouse Row, and did some light hiking too.

The next day I made it to Nashville to see one of my closest friends, Triniti. Her boyfriend works with Thomas Rhett, so we ended up at a Kenny Chesney concert where Thomas opened for him! Did I really visit Nashville if I didn’t go see a country artist?

After hanging out in Nashville for a couple of days, I was going to hook down to Georgia and head home. But instead my friend Claudia told me to swing by North Carolina to visit her (I hadn’t seen her since she visited Texas after we went to college together) and her and her now fiancé (!!!!) showed me some cute spots in Charlotte. (I’ll be back next June to photograph their wedding and I am SO excited!)

Then I made my way through Atlanta, got to hike a lot in Birmingham, and ended up staying the night at a Harrah’s in Mississippi because that’s basically the only hotel there I could trust. I made my way back home after dipping my toes in the Mississippi waters and finally got around to posting the pictures from my trip. Enjoy!
